TrackTunes Followers / Following + Suggestions on who to follow

Similar to Strava Followers / Following, would it be possible to impliment TrackTunes Users to be able to follow other TrackTunes users, having a Feed somewhere on tracktunes.app to see their Strava activity + TrackTunes information.

Also, could it be possible to find out who already on your Strava Followers / Following is also a TrackTunes user? Or suggest TrackTunes users to follow, similar to Strava, based off your clubs (i.e. people in the same clubs); if TrackTunes would be able to pull location data from Strava (either based on your set location in your Strava Profile Settings or based on your activities) and suggest other TrackTunes users in the same area; or suggestions based on Strava profile badges (i.e. Pro Athlete, Verified Athlete).

Thanks Louis, this is a great idea and one I’ve mulled over frequently but unfortunately both Strava and Spotify’s developer terms make it clear that I can only show a user their own data. This is a relatively recent change from both companies as they both continue to lock down their APIs and security.

Strava’s agreement puts it like this: "Strava Data related to other users, even if such data is publicly viewable on the Strava Platform, may not be displayed or disclosed."

Put another way, the data belongs to the person it came from, and I can only show it back to that person.

Sources if you want to disappoint yourself lol:

Strava API Agreement + API Policy: https://www.strava.com/legal/api

    Spotify Developer Policy: https://developer.spotify.com/policy

I’d love to have some kind of more community based social elements. I’m thinking of maybe starting a discord server or something that people could organically join and share a music/activity conversation. Anyway I’m sorry to so quickly disappoint but I’m afraid my hands are tied on this one :(

Thanks for the fast and informed response, Dave! I know we talked about this before and that you were going to look into it - really appreciate you digging into the legal specifics and being so open to feedback. Makes complete sense given how strictly Strava and Spotify have been tightening up their API policies lately.

The Discord idea sounds like a great workaround to build that community feel organically without running afoul of developer terms!

I've got a few more ideas cooking that I'll send your way soon. Also really looking forward to the iOS app - if you end up needing any TestFlight beta testers, definitely let me know!
