GAP instead of Regular Pace

Grade makes a huge difference for pace, irregardless of music. It would be good to be able to choose to show GAP instead.

Makes sense especially if you hit a song on a big hill.

The catch I see is that Strava's GAP formula is proprietary, so I can't reproduce it exactly, and they don’t give these numbers over the API either. What I could do is implement a well-established grade adjustment myself. (Some people look to have even attempted to reverse engineer Strava’s method; so that could be interesting too) In any case I think it would land close to Strava's number but wouldn't match it perfectly. Would that still be useful?

I’d have to think how to manage that in the UI and shareables since now every track would have two numbers to potentially display. Could just be a global preference in user settings (e.g. show absolute pace or GAP pace everywhere) and perhaps some screens could still show the two side by side. I like the idea! Will be thinking about it thanks!

I think just including a caveat about the accuracy compared with Strava should be fine. I mean, I think it differs from Garmin anyway and I don't think anybody notices or cares!

Global setting sounds like the best bet 😊

Just to add to this also - same would apply for how the paces show on the activity image. Or providing the option for both, perhaps?
